The Stoic Journey — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
The Stoic Journey ("the app") is built by Treelectronic. We collect as little as possible, and everything meaningful stays under your control.
What stays on your device
Your journal entries, reading progress, lesson completions, streaks, favorites, and settings are stored locally on your device. We cannot read them.
Optional account and sync
If you sign in (with your Google or Apple account — we never see or store a password), your progress, reading positions, and favorites are synced to our backend (hosted on Supabase) so you can pick up on another device or on the web app at treelectronic.com. Sign-in is optional — the app is fully functional without an account. You can export your synced data or delete your account and all synced data at any time from Settings in the web app, or by contacting us at the address below.
Analytics (optional)
The app records a small set of anonymous usage events (for example: "a lesson was completed", "the daily meditation was viewed") via PostHog to help us understand what is useful. This never includes the text of your journal entries or any content you write. You can turn analytics off at any time in the You tab under Privacy (iOS) or under Settings → Privacy in the web app. We do not use advertising identifiers, we show no ads, and we never sell data.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, a technical crash report (stack trace, device model, OS version) is sent via Sentry so we can fix the bug. Crash reports contain no journal content and no personal identifiers beyond what the crash mechanics require.
Children
The app is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
